PAS Systemic Partnership for Family Offices — Natalia Cacciari

PAS Systemic Partnership

For Family Offices who want what they build to last.

Sound governance is not enough.

Continuity also depends on whether the human system can see present reality, tolerate change and move without losing its sense of belonging.

We help your advisory team understand what the family system is protecting, and create the conditions for responsible movement.

A Brief Orientation

What PAS is.
Who it is for.
How it works.

Most Family Offices reach a point no policy document anticipated. A succession conversation that keeps circling without landing. A NextGen member who has stopped engaging. A conflict that governance can describe accurately and still not resolve.

That is not a failure of structure. It is the point where structure runs out, and something else is needed: someone who can stay with what the family is carrying long enough for it to become visible. Underneath, the system is often protecting something specific: if I see this clearly, I may lose the bond. If I change, I may stop belonging.

PAS is a systemic capability that reads what is happening beneath the case, and works with your advisory team, and where agreed, directly with the family, to help continuity become livable, not just designed.

When governance cannot move a case forward, PAS helps your team see why.

The Case

Consider what governance alone cannot explain.

A pair of hands resting on a closed notebook at a conference table, an empty chair and a glass of water, city skyline through the window

A succession plan exists. The successor is capable. The timeline was agreed eighteen months ago.

Every quarter, the advisory team revisits the same plan.

Nothing in the document is wrong.

The founder speaks in favour of the transition, every time it is raised.

And every time, the actual transfer of authority is postponed by one more quarter.

The advisory team has run out of structural questions to ask.

The plan remains signed. The system has not moved.

Most frameworks would look at this and see a communication problem. Or a governance gap. Or reluctance.

PAS sees something else.

It sees a founder whose nervous system has learned, over decades, that stopping is not survivable.

It asks what the system is detecting as unsafe, not what is missing from the plan.

It sees a system that already knows what needs to happen, and cannot yet let it happen.

The Central Question

What does PAS help a Family Office see that governance alone cannot reveal?

Why Family Offices Work With PAS

Grounded in

A therapeutic-systemic practitioner, not a governance generalist

Natalia is a therapeutic-systemic practitioner and Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) candidate, bringing a decade of trauma-informed somatic practice to the human dynamics that governance alone cannot reach or transform.

Her training includes Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems and Polyvagal-informed practice, alongside systemic and psychodynamic foundations rooted in the Tavistock tradition. She is a KDVI candidate, completed Family Enterprise and Wealth with Patricia Angus at Columbia University, and the Master Class for Family Business Advisors with Christine Blondel (INSEAD). She works across English, French and Spanish.

This depth is applied within bounded advisory engagements and, where agreed, within clearly scoped family processes, not as psychotherapy or diagnosis.

Where Cases Begin

Succession. Authority. Belonging. Conflict. NextGen. Decision paralysis.

These are not psychological concepts imported into Family Office work. They are the phenomena that appear consistently in succession, ownership and governance cases, once the technical part of the case has already been resolved.

Most advisory work focuses on what is decided. PAS focuses on what shapes whether a decision can be lived.

Succession

A transition that has been discussed for years but keeps stalling at the same point.

Authority

Formal roles are assigned, but real authority has not moved with them.

Belonging

Family members present in the structure, absent from the conversation, often protecting a place that feels conditional on staying quiet.

Conflict

Disagreements that governance can name accurately and still cannot resolve.

NextGen

A rising generation the family cannot yet agree how to bring in.

Decision paralysis

A family that can discuss almost anything, and still cannot decide.

Not Surface-Level Facilitation

Most governance or communication facilitation stops at meeting structure and language. PAS goes further: it draws on a decade of trauma-informed somatic and systemic training to read what a family is carrying beneath the case, not only what is said in the room.

When a family cannot move, PAS does not assume resistance or lack of commitment.

It asks what the system is detecting as unsafe, what protective parts are trying to preserve, and what degree of regulation and co-regulation is needed for movement to become possible. This is how neuroception, nervous-system understanding, compassion and somatic practice are translated into the family-enterprise context.

That depth is what your team is gaining access to: a systemic capability applied inside a bounded advisory engagement, translated into a read your team can act on.

The earliest signals are often relational before they become visible in the case notes.

Therapeutic Depth. Family-Enterprise Application. Clear Boundaries.

PAS draws on systemic, somatic and therapeutic disciplines to work with the nervous-system and relational conditions affecting continuity. It is not psychotherapy offered through a Family Office, and it does not diagnose family members.

Direct work with the family takes place only within an explicitly agreed process, focused on succession, authority, belonging and the family's capacity to live what has been designed. Scope, duration and confidentiality are defined from the start, coordinated with your team throughout.

You remain the trusted advisor throughout. PAS works alongside your team, inside the scope you define.

Not open-ended engagement without a defined scope.

Not language your team cannot use directly with the client.

Not a displacement of the Family Office as trusted advisor.

Not involvement with the family without your team's agreement first.

What Changes Within a Case

Before PAS, the team refines a plan that still fails to move. With PAS, they begin to recognise what is shaping the system's capacity to live it.

Before

The case has stalled and no one is certain why.

With PAS

The team has a specific read on what is holding the case in place.

Before

The advisor senses something beneath the disagreement, without a way to name it.

With PAS

The advisor has language to describe it internally, without diagnosing anyone.

Before

Each meeting revisits the same ground.

With PAS

There is a concrete next step, not just more discussion.

Before

The team is unsure whether to push, wait, or bring in outside help.

With PAS

The decision to intervene, wait, or refer is deliberate, not guesswork.

Before

One advisor carries most of the relational weight alone.

With PAS

That weight is shared, with somewhere to bring it when a case gets heavy.

Family Offices rarely lack expertise. They lack a shared way to see what is holding a case in place, and the standing to act on it.

Conversations from the PAS Family Enterprise Observatory

Across conversations with family members, advisors, researchers and continuity practitioners, similar observations keep emerging.

"When families undertake the continuity process, they build stronger families."
Wendy Sage-Hayward, Family Business Consulting Group (FBCG)
"El consultor debe ayudar a crear ambientes seguros para poder tener las conversaciones."
Fernanda Jaramillo, Partner at Lansberg Gersick Advisors (LGA)
"Many families think installing governance is the end of the journey. They do not realise it is the beginning of a process that never truly ends."
Guillermo Salazar, Family Enterprise Advisor
"It was all there in writing. But it became something to comply with. A protocol you could point to and say: we have one."
Liliana Carbone, Second-Generation Family Business Owner and Family Enterprise Advisor

What PAS Makes Possible

Move

Out of protective stillness, toward the next responsible step, without forcing the system.

See reality

Seeing themselves, each other and the system as they are now, not only through inherited loyalty, injury or role.

Belong

Changing, differentiating, taking authority or transferring it, without losing their place in the family.

To see what is real. To move without forcing. To belong without remaining unchanged.

The PAS Systemic Partnership

Three ways to work together

Designed for Family Offices seeking specialised depth, without outsourcing the trusted relationship. Start with one case, not a commitment.

01 — Systemic Case Consultation€2,500–4,000 per case consultation

Bring a live case to the table. We stay with your advisory team on what is happening beneath it, and return with a specific, usable read on what to do next.

  • One or two working sessions with the advisory team
  • A systemic read on what is holding the case in place
  • Concrete next steps your team can act on directly
02 — Family Systemic ProcessFrom €15,000 · most engagements €18,000–25,000

Within an explicitly agreed process, PAS works directly with family members. Scope, duration and confidentiality are defined from the start, coordinated with your team throughout.

  • Systemic mapping and individual conversations
  • A family process, held with explicit scope and confidentiality
  • An advisor debrief and an agreed case synthesis your team can act on
03 — Systemic Partnership Retainer€3,000–6,000 per month

Ongoing access for your team: case consultation, supervision, and priority case review and scoping as needs arise.

  • Retainers cover advisory access and case supervision
  • Priority case review and scoping as needs arise
  • Direct family processes are scoped and budgeted separately

Who it's for

PAS fits

  • Multi-Family Offices and Single-Family Offices with an internal advisory team
  • A case where structure is sound but the family is not moving
  • A team willing to bring PAS in alongside the existing advisor, not instead of them
  • A family that is not currently in active litigation or adversarial separation

PAS is not a fit

  • Individual or couples therapy, with no family enterprise frame
  • A family looking for validation of a decision already made
  • A single-session fix with no willingness to follow a process
  • A case already in legal dispute, where litigation needs to lead
